Learn Martin is the educational workshop division of Martin Animation Studios, an active animation production company in Houston, Texas. Students learn inside a professional creative studio that develops cartoons and animated films through hands-on projects, professional equipment, real animation workflows, small classes, and practical creative development.
Professional Animation Workstations
Every student, in every tier, receives access to a dedicated professional animation workstation during class. Each workstation includes a computer and monitor suitable for the software used in the program. Students begin creating animation on computers in Tier 1 and continue building technical skills through all three tiers. Workstations remain the property of Learn Martin and are used on-site.
Tuition, Program Details, and Equipment Fee
Tier 1 — Animation Foundations
Duration: 8 weeks · Instruction: 4 hours per week · Total instruction: 32 hours
Tuition: $699
Focus: foundational animation principles and introductory computer-based animation.
Tier 2 — Body Mechanics & Acting
Duration: 12 weeks · Instruction: 4 hours per week · Total instruction: 48 hours
Tuition: $1,299
Focus: character movement, acting, weight, gravity, storyboarding, and animation performance.
Tier 3 — Industry Portfolio & Short Film
Duration: approximately 9 months · Instruction: 4 hours per week · Approximately 156 instructional hours Tuition: $4,499
Focus: advanced character animation, dialogue, acting, portfolio development, and demo reel creation.
Full Three-Tier Pathway: $5,999 combined tuition, a savings of $498 compared with purchasing the three tiers separately.
Mandatory Studio Technology & Equipment Fee: Every student pays a one-time $1,200 fee for the workstation infrastructure. Students do not purchase or take ownership of the computers, and the fee is charged once per student—not once per tier.
New-student initial enrollment totals: Tier 1 $1,899 · Tier 2 $2,499 · Tier 3 $5,699 · Complete Three-Tier Pathway $7,199. Returning students who have already paid the equipment fee owe only the applicable tuition. These totals do not establish refund terms.
Small Classes. Professional Training.
Classes are limited to approximately 10–15 students, with one active class group per tier at a time. Different tiers may meet at different scheduled times. Students receive 4 hours of instruction weekly, typically divided into two 2-hour sessions. Specific class days, times, and start dates will be announced before enrollment.
Learn Martin offers training inside Martin Animation Studios in Houston, individual workstation access, hands-on projects from Tier 1, professional software and workflows, small-group feedback, portfolio-building opportunities, and exposure to a working animation studio. Students who demonstrate exceptional animation skills, professionalism, and creative ability may be considered for future studio opportunities when suitable positions become available. Enrollment, completion, or payment does not guarantee employment, an internship, or a studio position.
